Paul met Mary on August 13, 1965 at a dance in the recreation building at Eglington & Yonge Street in Toronto, Ontario.

They were engaged on March 17th, 1966 and married on August 13th, 1966 at St. Edwards Catholic Church on Yonge Street in Willowdale, Ontario. Evelyn Duggan was Mary's Maid of Honor and Joe Klein was Paul's Best Man. The wedding receiption was held at Paul's mother's home in her basement. It was a small reception with 25-30 people in attendance including  Mary's Ma & Da, Tommy & Peggy Parkes. On the afternoon of the reception, Paul & Mary left for Niagara Falls, Ontario for a three day honeymoon.
